Draw a Thon 2007

rajSo, a few weeks ago I had the awesome fun of going to Draw-A-Thon, an awesome 2-day art festival where models pose in really amazing theatrical poses with odd bits of costume. There's live music, everyone is drawing/painting/sculpting/writing/etc all around, punk music is playing... they did three three-hour themed segments each day (with themes such as 'naked football' :D) with a few models in long poses, a few in short poses, and some doing gesture.
I filled about 3 drawing pads in the 2 days I was there. XD I didn't complete many pieces, mostly I was just experimenting with different media and styles or taking poses to use later in fanart. Most of the finished pieces I did complete were on 14x17 paper, so I can't upload them here. But I am supplying some sketches/drawings/etc from my smaller notebooks. ^_^
So enjoy my non-fanart if you'd like. ^_^ It's mostly my own weird brand of contour drawing and sketches this time, ^_^ And if you're even in the NYC area when Draw-a-THon is going on, be sure you sign up.
Naked Football
All the models were nude or nearly nude, and wearing bits of football padding or other sporting equipment or outfits.
Nightmare:
A nude woman held a three-hour sleeping pose on a floor mattress, while the others wore black around her.
This was a female model in a man's suit and an anime-style wig, making her look like a pervy young businessman. She was holding a video camera over the sleeping nude woman. :D YAY, VOYEURISM.
Haunted Castle
The models were all in body paint, and there was a set of cardboard castles. At one point, a bloody guy joined them.

I thought this model looked a bit like Roy, so I drew him with that in mind. Interesting result, kind of realistic-manga style... or something...
Last pose of the festival. All the models linked up into a circle; it was really quite lovely. One was on her head, but she was on the opposite side of the stage.
